Dementia?
Doing a write-up on Alzheimer's Disease for my neuro elective...
And as we have to search for relevant info and video tapes about the Disease for our presentation and report...
Came across quite a few touching videos abt the disease and how badly it changes a person...
Alzheimer's Disease is a type of Dementia, for those who dunno what it is..
No fixed cause for it cept that it is probably hereditary & age-related...
WHereby brains cells degenerate/die and nerve cells aren't functioning like normal..
N it is mainly characterised by forgetfulness that gets worse as time pass..
Watching the tapes made me feel sad to see how such a condition can change a person so much..
How helpless the person and the family would feel...
As one video said.. "A person with Alzheimer's dies twice.. U die once as u lose urself as the condition deteriorates and u die again when u pass on(aka death)"
Some of the patients forget their own kids and partners...
Oh oh.. i keep askin my grp members to watch "The Notebook"..
Cuz it is such a touching story on a lady with Alzheimer's Disease, i think...
More on the love story between she and her husband..
I cried watching it.. whahaa...
So those who haven, GO n WATCH IT..
Hmmm.........makes me wonder would my husband take such good care of me if one day i loses all my memory or i kena dementia..whahaa..
okok.. yea.. i know.. i must FIRST find one then think further.. hehee..
