@ Federation Square along the Yarra River

Check out the amount of people there.... Just waitin around for the fireworks to start...

On this day, the stretch of Flinder's Street is closed... U seen people just milling about.. Some dressed the the nines, some dressed casually.. BUT everyone's mood was just joyous and fabulous..

Another stretch of road that is blocked off.. The amount of people is just Whooaaa... N i was fairly amused yet impressed by something i saw.. They had zones whereby 'Liqour was not allowed', Signs were put up n police were patrolling the area in groups. N the police would pounce on anyone holding a liqour bottle etc.. A really good idea, if not we'd have drunkards walking amidst us n creating a scene probably... So thou it was really really crowded, it was not rowdy.. Yea.. Of crse u have the usual mad n typical shouting n screamin and people just acting crazily in a funny way around.. But it was not scary.. It added to the 'fun' of things in fact...

The last time i ever went for any countdowns for NYE was ages and ages ago.. When i was young n bored.. HAHA... N i totally hate those place cuz it is soo crowded n messy n HOT.. BUT BUT, it was really marvelous this time round...

Firstly cuz the weather was FABULOUS.. it was cool.. So it felt great walkin abt n standing about cuz u DO NOT feel warm at all.. hehehee....

Secondly, the feel of it is just so different.. Being in a foreign place passing the NYE and watching how another country n its people celebrated it..

The public transport was free that day and available thru out the nite.. This is something else that i was impressed with.. To my knowledge, Spore has NVR had free public transport for any holidays (correct me if im wrong pls..)... N definitely it did not have it thru out the nite.. Possibly till about 1am or so.. N from what i know, the public transport stops real early.. SO its like after the countdown, u probably have to race for the trains.. If not, walk home.. Even taxis are impossible to flag on that day.. N my dear younger sis can attest to this fact since she had to wwalk home from city hall the last NYE.. hahahaa....

N so, considering the amount of people there for the countdown and it being a liqour land n a free land... i'd say it was marvelous that nite.. Everything was real orderly n there definitely was NO PUSH n RUSH in waitin to see the fireworks n stuff.. People were gracious.. Honestly, the only people that piss me off for not being gracious are asians... Always..

Sidetrack abit.. Here when u board the buses n trams.. Guys let u up first. Regardless of age normally.. Had this young bloke stop in his tracks on the tram to let me down first.. I was impressed with his manners despite him being only a young teenager. When i board buses etc, i DO NOT have men rushing for the bus with me. In the first place, no one ever rushes for the buses. But at least, guys will stand aside even IF they are at the door first, to let a girl up. Even old men.. In Spore, u 'wait long long'... HAHAHAA... U have guys shoving their way in n rushing with u for the buses n trains.. Those who takes the rush hour public transport would know wat i mean, im sure.. hahaaa... Most of the time in Spore, u DO NOT have guys being that well-mannered and gentlemenly. Tsktsk... Disgusting... Men who do not know how to treat a lady disgusts me totally. HAHAHAA.....

Okie BACK to that nite... All i have to say is.. it was awesome... I enjoyed that nite completely.. Despite having to walk alot on my new wedges and my feet almost died on my way home that nite.. hahahaa.... Cuz after partying n having to walk about 10mins back to my fren's place in the city at 5am in the morning... My feet were screamin in major pain.. I was sooo tempted to take off my shoes n walk BUT cuz it was quite dangerous to do that here.. with Broken beer bottles everywhere... But afater that nite, i kept my feet on flats for days.. hahaa...

I'd say that it was a night that was really interesting to me.. Spending it away from home for once without family... Seeing the sights n scenes...

Anyway, the fireworks were another MARVELOUS thing.. It was just sooooo pretty n awesome.. N lasted for like 10mins i think... N as it was along the stretch of the Yarra River, u can see it anywhere along the River.. N it was just beautiful.. Im not a person who goes gaga over fireworks but i'd say this was smth that impressed me.. It was beautiful..

The only flaw was the countdown.. HAHAA.. it was quite off cuz there was no one yelling the countdown as midnite approached.. Despite there being such a large crowd in that place..N the only place tt did the countdown which was a bar along the river.. The people screamin the countdown inside were 10secs off cue.. HAHAA.... So its was quite cartoon.. suddenly they were screaming 15-14-13-12-11-10-.. n the fireworks went off.. hhahaa...

Alrighty.. that was about it for NYE.. I was suppose to have it up ages ago.. But been super lazy la.. hahaa.. N i din take pics.. It was smth i feel can only be enjoyed there at that moment.. Besides i know i cant capture the essence and feel of that moment. heehehee... Plus it was difficult to capture the fireworks on pictures.. I took video clips of it BUT i do not know how to uplaod it n m lazy to figure it out.. HAHAHAHAHA.... *grinz* Obviously the pictures i took totally DO NOT show out the beauty of the fireworks... sighh... But i remember the feelin i had still... it was awesome...

*************** 'Weird' structure in my Uni ***************

Please guess what this it?? QUite obvious rite?? I have been highly amused by this structure each time i pass bby it as i walk home...

It amuses me greatly to see this structure with my Uni's name on it being on its head.. Whoever the man is, must be greatly insulted.. This structure has been like that for the past 2mths i reckon.. Whoeever placed it there have not decided to tilt it over n haven decided on a spot to put it i suppose.. N when i saw the ducklings strolling around it, i was so totally amused.. HAHA.. Imagine our Sir Stamford Raffles statue being placed like that.. hahaa....
